Brief outline of PfR's intervention in Uganda containng key data about the area of the beneficiaries in the Katakwi District.

The Acholi and Iteso are subsistence farmers living in the low-lying, mostly flat Acholi and Teso sub- regions, which are prone to flooding and drought. The populations in areas bordering on Karamoja region and Lango sub-region are especially vulnerable to flooding and drought. The Teso region has a high concentration of seasonal wetlands and, sharing a watershed with parts of Karamoja, is at high risk of flash flooding.
