Document extract

Common Property Resources form an integral component of rural way of life in India. Comprising of natural resources like wetlands, forests, pasturelands etc., these systems are commonly owned and utilized. Often, they are core to sustenance of the village community. However, since the advent of development, these common resources are being largely neglected and are facing constant degradation. With climate change threatening to impact the known way of human life, especially in remote and fragile landscapes, it is critical that efforts are made to sensitize the masses about the perils of neglecting common property resources and finding local solutions.
