Factsheet
Brief outline of PfR's intervention in Uganda containng key data about the area of the beneficiaries in the Napak District.
Communities living in the Napak region are directly dependent on natural resources to sustain their livelihoods. The Karamojong are transhumance agro-pastoralists living in the semi-arid Karamoja region. They rely extensively on livestock rearing, supplemented by opportunistic cropping.
However rainfall in this area is very sparse, frequently leading to drought and when rain does fall, it often causes flash flooding due to high rates of soil erosion and deforestation in the area.
