PfR engaged with media houses in the region to strengthen their knowledge on climate change. For this,
PfR Uganda organized a three-day regional Media Practitioners’ training workshop on Integrated Risk Management and Disaster Risk Reduction. The workshop brought together 34 (9 females and 25 males) journalists from selected media houses in Uganda and Ethiopia, while Kenya was represented by The East African staff based in Uganda.
PfR Horn of Africa builds capacity of media and CSOs in understanding Integrated Risk Management and mainstreaming risk into development programmes, plans and policies. Engaging the media is important to ensure harmonized, well researched and continued dialogue on pertinent issues regarding IRM.
